If you are in a troubled marriage – seek counseling from a Marriage and Family Counselor. Not your hair dresser!
If you are already in a bitter divorce seek help. It’s best if you go with your ex, and if you or your ex has a new spouses they should go with you. Not doing so, is treating your child like Solomon suggested. Kids deserve better.

Episode 24: Talking with your kids about politics”
Now for your homework:
- Watch the news with your children who are over the age of six and discuss the politics reported.
- Listen to the next candidate’s debate with then, too. If you are, or are not, of the party debating, that’s ok. During the debate comment to your kids what you like or dislike about each participant.
- Make sure you watch all the presidential debates with them.
- After the debates ask the kids which candidate they liked best and why they liked him/her. Then go to: www.parenting-matters.com click on “homework” and tell us how your family reacted to the debate.
- When the election comes, if you can, arrange to take your grade school kids with you to the polls.
- And after the election results are complete go back to: www.parenting-matters.com and let us know how your kids reacted to the results.
